A sad week for music and comedy lovers!
The whole country seems to be talking about the unfortunate losses we had this week with the deaths of the great Victoria wood and Prince. We have actually had more celebrity losses in 2016 recorded than in any other whole year recorded. A sad but true fact for you all.
Sympathy has been flooding in from other music stars who were influenced so much from Prince. This has got us all talking in the office with regards to what influences us on a day to day basis. Maybe its things you see/ hear on the TV or radio. A lot of my friends are influenced by things they see on Pinterest or Facebook, this is definitely a favourite for friends that are getting married, planning events or could even just be down to new hair styles or outfits. All in all we are influenced in some ways nearly every minute of the day, sometimes not even noticing that we are being. Advertisements on websites, reading titles when you are waiting for appointments and then remembering a few days later that you had seen something somewhere and then using it from there.
Maybe this weekend we could all really try and figure out what we strive to be influenced by and how we can make this happen….

It’s a Jungle out there
As previously mentioned I wanted to tell you about our next wonderful member of abode which is our lovely Gemma. Gemma has a wealth of experience in the property industry, having started her career with a corporate estate agent in 1996. Over these years she has gained experience and built her knowledge in every single department including negotiation, sales progression and lettings. Since I’ve started Gemma has been an amazing help and I now feel like I’ve gained an amazing colleague and also a friend for life!
I received some fantastic feedback again this week which was greatly appreciated:
“Thank you very much for your help and professional service Laura you have handled this tenancy change over brilliantly. I hope your enjoying your new roll and I am sure you will soon be a great asset to Abode Residential.”
I can confirm I have loved every minute of my new role and I can’t wait to see what happens in my second month.
There have been big discussions in the office today about The jungle book being released this weekend I think after it being such a brilliant original Disney film we are all realising we are kids at heart. I wonder who else I will be seeing at the cinema this weekend watching it also…..

Abode are no April fools!
A big Happy 4th Birthday to Abode!!!!!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter and all got lots of eggs. I’m sure our weather can tell when its bank holiday in the UK, one day of sunshine and then the wrath of Storm Kate, which our very own Kate got caught up in, in Devon!
Abode saw fantastic end of month figures with everyone who wanted to complete their sales and mortgages in March do so!
We have seen an influx in rental properties come onto our books this week with three fabulous one bedroom apartments/ maisonette in Webheath, Crabbs cross and Walkwood area.

Spring into your new home
Spring has finally arrived (apparently) and with this comes what feels like a very early Easter. The kids are about to be off school and everyone is discussing Easter plans. Maybe you’re off for a long weekend away like Kate our mortgage advisor or you’re having a nice family filled weekend like Gemma our Admin manager or looking forward to a few days off with great friends, family and not to forget our pets like Clare our Director.
Here at Abode the last few weeks has seen a few changes coming up to the Easter period. A new face will be seen in the lovely new office in Mason Road and that face is mine! I’m Laura and I’ll be helping handling Lettings and Sales at Abode as well as updating this new weekly blog. I will be updating you on progresses as well as new properties and a few other extras. I’ve now been here two weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. The team I have joined are fabulous, personable, hardworking and pride themselves on customer service which shows with the number of positive feedback, cards and even flowers that have been delivered in my short time being here. It really feels like Abode is getting recognised around the Redditch area with more of our unique boards popping up over the Town, people talking about previous sales with us and more valuations being booked.
This week we sold a house on Woolacombe Lodge Road in less than 24 hours and received the following feedback from the Vendor:
“Thanks again for the call on Saturday. We didn’t expect to get an agreement in principle on the day, so it was really exciting for us! Also, Clare did a fantastic job in securing an offer for the asking price on our house, so soon after it going on the market. What a team!”
We also sold a property on The Beeches in less than two weeks which had been on with another agent for more than three months before we were instructed. We received the most beautiful flowers and a card stating the following:
“Kate and the girls at Abode, Thanks for all your hard work, you are an amazing team! The best in Redditch!”
Receiving feedback is very important to us and feedback like this is what we thrive for with everything we do.
There will be exciting Lettings deals coming soon after Easter so please keep your eyes and ears peeled for these.
